Supposedly, CERN (where the smartest people on Earth work) has created a hardon collider to create fusion which is only done by the sun. The CERN is going to try to create a black hole using the hadron collider. If they succeed there will be hope for creating man made fusion thus solving nuclear waste issues that have been arising in the past couple of years.
